Associate of Science in Health Information Management

Help healthcare facilities manage and safeguard patient information and pursue a career path as a health information management technician. In Ultimate Medical Academy’s (UMA) online¹ Health Information Management program (HIM), you can earn an online associate degree in 18 months. In addition, you’ll participate in a 90-hour practicum in an actual workplace setting. Health information management technicians help collect, organize and track patient information, while maintaining and safeguarding data privacy.

In this growing field, becoming a registered health information technician (RHIT) may give you an edge on your job search. And UMA’s RHIT Certification Prep course and mock test4 are included in the program curriculum. The median annual wage for this role was $44,0905 in May 2020, according to BLS. A HIM degree prepares you for a number of entry-level roles such as a medical records technician, a health information technician, a medical records analyst and medical billing specialist and more.
