Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teacher Preparation - Social Studies

As a student in our elementary teacher preparation program with an emphasis on social studies, you’ll gain an understanding of the wide variety of skills you’ll need to work as an educator by completing a social studies major and an elementary studies minor.

Once you complete this program, you’ll be eligible to take the test for your Michigan Provisional Elementary Teaching Certificate. You’ll also be able to take the test for an RX endorsement, which allows you to teach classes such as social studies, geography, and history in grades 6-8.

As a graduate, your options won’t be limited to teaching social studies, either. You’ll also be able to teach all subjects in grades K-5 and all subjects in self-contained classrooms for grades K-8.
