Question

Is Villanova a good online certificate program?

http://www.villanovau.com/ I was wondering they're a good program for online certification?

Answer

Yes. They're a part of the University Alliance. http://www.universityalliance.com/ there are more online degree and certificate programs on that website. Another good one is Penn Foster, they have basic certificate programs and Ashworth is also good. Oh, and check out Kaplan.

Question

Six Sigma Differences? Green, Lean, Black?

I'd appreciate your reply very much. Considering Villanova University's online certification but don't understand the difference between green six sigma, lean six sigma, and black belt six sigma. I think I have a clue but would like to hear from someone who really understands, thanks!

Answer

"Lean Six Sigma" is the waste-limiting process. A Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma has passed a training regimen and submitted project data to confirm that the principles of Lean Six Sigma have been grasped to the point of application. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt has stepped up another training level with the requisite project results, and is considered qualified to train others in Lean Six Sigma. Lean Six Sigma is a combined discipline which involves identifying and eradicating waste, using the discipline of statistics to track the progress of waste elimination. The goal is to bring processes within six standard deviations of the mean.

Question

Is Villanova University a good University for study Computer Science?

I'm an International student from Milan. I 'm interesting into Villanova University (for study Computer Science). It's a good school? It's very hard to be admitted?

Answer

Villanova is a very good regional university. It is not as good as the top national universities (e.g., Ivy League schools or the elite public universities). However, it is better than most universities in the US. It is regularly ranked as the top university in the Northeast US that offers graduate programs but offers few PhDs. It is highly selective. It is not easy to get into, but not impossible. Their science programs are very good -- including Computer Science.

Question

What are the pros and cons of attending Villanova University?

I recently got advice telling me that Villanova was a bad choice of university. What are the pros and cons of attending Villanova?

Answer

VIllanova is a tremednous academic institution with an outstanding reputation in the tri-state area. One negative is that it is not very well known in other areas of the country. The rich kid thing is definitely bothersome, but it is also what makes the school so competitive to get into so this is a trade-off. Some of those kids would end up getting great jobs from their parents and be in your network for many years, so that is not such a bad thing. There are no non-ivy league schools within 100 miles of Villanova that would be a better choice for you. If you can get into UPenn or Princeton, then definitely go there instead.

Question

What are my chances of getting into Villanova University?

I'm a junior in high school and planning to apply next fall. I'm in about 5 clubs and NHS I have a 100 percent weighted GPA, about a 93 or so unweighted I got an 1870 on my first SAT's, hopefully improving in June I'll have taken about 7 AP courses I'm in the top 3% of my class. What do you think? Is Villanova a good school / worth the money? thanks!! :)

Serena
Answer

I'm actually a student at Villanova. I think you will definitely get in! Apply! Villanova pays extra attention to GPAs and with your GPA and you being in the top 3% of your class, and your AP classes, I'm going to say you're a shoe-in! I think the average SAT scores are around the 1200's, so you might even get a scholarship! Villanova is slowly becoming a more prestigious school. It's becoming a lot more competitive to get in. I'd say you should visit the campus, if you haven't already. It's absolutely beautiful. Also, the academics are great, most professors are really nice and understanding. Not to mention our basketball team! I wouldn't worry at all. Good luck applying next fall!

Answer

As a current freshman, I'd say it's pretty good :) I mean look at all the rankings ... it's a pretty damn good university (however if you have the ability to get in an ivy, i would suggest that) nova has very prestigious engineering, nursing & of course BUSINESS programs ... they also have an arts & sciences program which is slightly less popular. I'd look at stats - they really say a lot.

Answer

Villanova is better ranked, is better known, has a larger business department, and basically is a nose ahead of Lehigh in every relevant factor I can think of. I looked in the most recent USNWR rankings, and neither Villanova nor Lehigh was especially known for its finance department or business department in general. All other things being equal, though, I'd pick Villanova over Lehigh. Edit to add - I don't know anyone who would qualify Lehigh as "better" than Villanova. Villanova doesn't have the number of post-Masters programs Lehigh has, but in most other respects the schools are somewhat similar - the reputational thing being a huge difference, where Villanova is simply much better known and better regarded.
